José Bacellar is uniquely qualified to lead efforts across multiple jurisdictions, having assisted a number of North American companies to expand into Latin America. He brings extensive professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has relevant experience in the medical cannabis industry. Prior positions he has held include Head of Business Development for Canopy Latam; Interim COO at Canopy Health (UK); Head of Business Development at ACIC Pharmaceuticals (Canada); CEO at Vetnil (Brazil); and CEO & President at Bombril S/A (Brazil).

Nelson Margarido is a specialist in corporate finance, currently acting as a Consultant in Compliance for UPF Consulting. With his legal background as well, as COO for Brazil and Latam, he can help make strides in bringing medical cannabis products to the rest of the region. Among his prior positions are Consultant in Strategic Planning for KC&D, Partner/General Manager at Tradis – Trading & Distribution, and Partner at Sene Comércio Serviços e Negócios Ltda.

Pharmacist, graduated in Pharmaceutical Industry, post graduation in pharmaceutical marketing. 14 years of experience in Regulatory affairs in multinational and Brazilian companies. Specialized in registering of new drug products, homeopathic, similiars, specific and herbal medicines.
Fabiana Lapa has over ten years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry space. Pharmacist, qualified in Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research and Business Management, she has both consulting and managerial experience. Her career developed in multinational companies and start ups such as, Adavium Medical, Mantecorp (Hypermarcas) and Bayer. During her career she had the opportunity of experiencing several functional areas including different roles and business interfaces.
Clarita Margarido, MD, MSc, PhD
Dr. Clarita Margarido is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and an anaesthesiologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Margarido holds a Masters degree in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University. She is also the President of Obstetrical Anaesthesia at the Canadian Anaesthesiologist Society – CAS. Dr. Margarido has the educational, drug research, and medical background necessary to lead clinical trials for Verdemed.
Valnei Canutti, MD, MSc
Dr. Valnei Canutti has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in how to conduct medical affairs in the region. He acted as Director for Latam and the Caribbean for Gilead Sciences. Prior positions include Chief Scientific Officer & EVP of Biotoscana, and Business Development Senior Director of United Medical Ltda. He is currently the CEO of Pint-Pharma in Brazil and a member of Verdemed’s Board.
